Our care home in Dalbeattie outskirts in South West Scotland, Munches Park is a 29 bed care home which provides specialist residential care and support to older people and people living with dementia.

Life

Munches Park is a warm, welcoming and friendly home that has some very special features. Our home has wonderful spaces to relax in and enjoy company, including an activities room, lounges and dining rooms as well our hairdressing salon which is popular with both the ladies and the gents. Our large garden and patio area is particularly popular in the better weather by residents who enjoying their morning coffee in sitting outside.

Everyone living at Munches Park enjoys their own comfortable and spacious en-suite bedroom, We encourage people to personalise their rooms with small items that remind them of home.

We have an extensive activity programme and support people through one-to-one and group activities. We have our vehicle which is used to enjoy days out in the local community. .

Food and Nutrition

Mealtimes represent an important social occasion and we work to ensure they are as enjoyable as possible, unhurried and relaxed with everyone given plenty of time to eat and enjoy their meal, while chatting and socialising with other residents.

We make a point of celebrating birthdays and special occasions, as well as celebrating and dressing up for national festivities such as St Andrew’s Day, Mother’s Day and Burns Night

Our chefs prepare nutritious and delicious meals, which are freshly made on site. We also support people who have specialist diets.

Very helpful and dedicated staff in pleasant surroundings and my mother is very happy. Considering the circumstances, the staff have done an excellent job of keeping the facility covid free.

Care and Support

We are committed to providing personalised support that ensures our residents lead active, happy and fulfilled lives. All staff receive specialist training and mentoring. We really get to know our residents and spend time understanding their life story and the things that are important to them, so we focus on the things that really matter to them. Every resident has a named key worker who helps them develop their own personalised care plan.

We hold a regular forum with residents, enabling them to voice their views on the day-to-day running of our home.

We have strong links with the Alzhemier’s Society, Age UK and local advocacy groups.
